just Needing some advice, I started taking Prozac for around 9 days 20mg one a day, however I started feeling really awful and having really bad thoughts however since stopping them I feel a little better but I’m getting nausea and also still really have up and down spells and intense thoughts can someone tell me if this is normal I haven’t been taking them now for 2 weeks

I didn't realise Prozac was still prescribed OP.
If you were getting bad thoughts whilst taking it then you really need to talk to your GP about how it has affected you.

Prozac has a long half life (4-6 days) and it takes time to clear from your system after you stop. Feeling worse for the first six weeks of starting is also very normal and it does improve after a while.
However, if you start having thoughts of self-harm or nightmares then doctors might ask you stop and switch you to a different medication.

if you haven’t already then please contact your prescribing doctor.

I took it at university. I felt awful to start and then they increased my dosage and it started working and was very effective. I can’t remember if I ended up on 40 or 60 in the end. Definitely speak to your GP and don’t suffer in silence. Everyone responds differently too so it might be that a different drug suits you better. But I definitely felt worse then better once they increased the dose. Loads better. I just stopped overthinking things and felt calm and confident. Could get stuff done. Better energy. Good luck xx
