I had a mental health crisis and been referred to family front door services

I've recently had a mental breakdown and nearly took my own life which didn't happen thanks to my ex, I have a 2yr old daughter.

I've been referred to the home treatment team who have referred me to the family front door services and I'm just wondering if anyone has ever dealt with them.

I’m not sure who family front door services are but I’m guessing it is children’s social care. If it is then a social worker will call you and probably come to visit. They will be supportive of you and refer you to services who can help you with your mental health and anything else that is bothering you. They are nice really they just have bad press sometimes. They’ll just want to support you to get better and check on your 2 year old.

I live in Worcestershire and that's the service the home treatment team referred me to, my key worker stated when I said I was anxious about the idea of family front door service she started they can't take my daughter away or place her on child in need as the referral isn't for safeguarding concerns it's just for support due to my mental health.

I love my daughter, and made sure she was safeguarded regarding mental breakdown.
My daughter hasn't been in my care because I've been ill she has stayed at her nans n aunties.

My mental illness isn't new I've have/had EUBPD since I was 18 and have managed it well.

they won’t want to take your daughter away. They never want to- it’s expensive to put a child into care. They will want to see you in a treatment programme and they will want to check in with you to make sure you are okay. if your daughter has been with family they will involve those family members to make sure things are safe and settled for your daughter. I’m sure they will be helpful.
