Hi
had difficult few years . Endometrial cancer 2022, PAelvic floor prolapse 2023, covid related inflammatory arthritis 2024 which still not found a treatment for so had to give up physicsl hobbies except for swimming. First grandchild born 2025 but new parents had ldifficult start and needed lots of support. Was bowling along trying to keep up part time work and social life but was masking pain a lot of time
a week and a half ago i felt like i had a bug
a week ago i noticed my
mood was dipping at times
4 days ago i developed complete loss of appetite
2 days ago i developed early morning wakening
my head feels fuzzy
i cant concentrate
phoned GP and put on escitalopram

it seems a very sudden onset and quite ‘physical’

also catastophising more than normal
what is the difference between depression and your body and mind just saying thats enough!!!!!

You were given antidepressants for a low mood that started a week ago? Was anything else even considered by the GP?

I’ve nothing at all against antidepressants and have had severe depression myself (and it certainly can feel very physical), but you also sound like you could be exhausted, or have a virus that’s hitting you hard. Or low iron or similar.
