Feel like I’ve come to the end of the road, again in life. I think I’ve just ended my long term relationship.

I don’t feel things could get any worse and I just want a way out now.

Oh love. I’ve been there. Do you want to talk about it?

Is there anyone you can talk to in real life? I’m here, others will be here, but it might help to pick up the phone. Is there anyone?

Touty · 02/08/2026 00:48

I don’t have the energy to phone anyone

I understand. Do you have anyone at home with you?

Touty · 02/08/2026 01:15

No I’m on my own, live alone.

Do you have a place to live, food in the cupboard and money to pay? Or do you mean you are homeless?

Ok, that’s good. For a while, it’s okay to do nothing, if all you can manage is lying in bed scrolling, then that’s all you can do. Eat something when you can, worry about feeling better in a few days maybe? You don’t have to be actively doing things all the time, pausing for a while is okay.

Touty · 02/08/2026 07:58

I am very sorry you feel this way and I understand as I’ve been there.
You don’t need to know why but perhaps it may help if I say…. I am glad I stayed.
That doesn’t mean I am skipping through life but I am glad I didn’t leave.
So, left field question.
Do you have a favourite TV programme?

Tcateh · 02/08/2026 08:08

I understand op.
I don't have any answers. If I didn't have my DD I'd check out.
It's cruel I understand. Xx

Hello OP, we are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our Mental Health Resources. You can also go to the Samaritans website or email them on [email protected]. Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.

We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.💕

I’m really sorry you’re hurting so much. Ending a long-term relationship can feel completely overwhelming, and it’s good that you told MN how you’re feeling rather than keeping it to yourself.
I’m really concerned because you said you’re feeling suicidal. You don’t have to carry this on your own. Tell someone you trust—a friend, family member, or someone close to you—and reach out to a crisis service or go to A&E if you’re worried you might act on these thoughts. Ask someone nearby to stay with you and help you get urgent support.
We’re all here to listen, and we care about what happens to you. You matter, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now
