Depressed job situation

I feel really depressed and low since leaving my job in December. I thought it was for a better role but fast forward, I miss the team and want to return. It makes it more difficult that I share the same office HQ. I feel isolated upstairs in my new role and everyone I know is downstairs.

I feel suicidal with my situation and I feel left out everywhere. My sister lives close to my mum. I just feel so sad and left out everywhere.

I asked the head for a job opening and he answered straight away saying there is an opportunity coming up and if I’m interested to keep my eye on the jobs board.

When I left they said I was doing the wrong thing but at the time I just wanted more money and respect (I came into the game late).

You’ve lost the sense of community you gained from your job, which is an important part of mental health.

Absolutely apply for anything new there that is appropriate. Hopefully you can go back.

It isn’t normal to feel suicidal about this, however, and I would strongly encourage seeing your doctor and maybe getting on some antidepressants so if you do get a job offer there you can go back in the best possible headspace.

i think you should also make the effort to reach out to some non work friends and get out amongst people to remind yourself you’re not alone, even if you really don’t feel like it.
