Sertraline after 9 to 10 weeks, increase dose or persevere?

Hello, I have been on sertraline for about 9-10 weeks now, I have been on 50mg. I found maybe at the start I felt a bit better in terms of mood but I would say my anxiety is overall just the same if not a bit higher. I still have side effects like jittery feelings and just overall increased feelings of anxiety.

I am bf, so there’s not many options for me to consider. I have spoken to my gp and they have suggested to try go up to 100mg which I am apprehensive to do, as I don’t want to make things worse. I don’t know whether to persevere and up the dose? I’m just a bit deflated as I thought I would maybe feel somewhat better now, and I just feel that I’m effectively taking them for no reason at the moment. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Hi, you probably need to increase the dose to a level at which you feel stable. 50mg is low - I had to go to 150 mg before I stabilized though have subsequently reduced to 100 mg. Been on Setraline.about 5 years now with no.negative side effects.

I found I had a small benefit at 50mg but it made a massive difference to me when I was on 200mg. My only issue with sertraline was it made me very sick every time I increased the dose (and when I came off it) for a few weeks.
