Has long-term Sertraline use contributed to weight gain in my late 50s?

I’ve been on Sertraline for around 5 years, with the last year going up to 100mg. I’m feeling heavier than I used to and wonder if it’s because of the medication or perhaps my age (late 50s)?

As much as they say it doesn't cause weight gain I've been on it twice and both times have gained weight. I haven't with other ssris.

My sister is 51 and has been on sertraline for several years now, she has put on around 3-4 stone. My friend (53) has also been on it for roughly the same time as dsis but hasn’t put on any weight, however, she exercises like crazy to keep it off.

Depends really. Could be just correlated. Some people don’t eat when they’re depressed and appetite returns when it’s resolved?
