Anyone else taking Sertraline?

Hope I can get some reassurance on here please. I've taken Sertraline/Zoloft for over 5 years slowly increasing my dose up to 100mg. Recently I suffered a bereavement and alongside that I've developed some horrible peri menopause symptoms like anxiety and insomnia and intermittent low mood.

I increased up to 125mg 21 days ago today. I've had some signs of improvement and then this week I had two days where it really felt I'd turned the corner. But since last night I'm back to feeling low and anxious again. I feel so disappointed that it seems to have stopped working? Should I carry on with the increase is there any point?

I was on sertraline for 10 or more years. For the last few years I was on 200mg and that seemed to be reasonably helpful to me. Last year it just didn’t seem to be working so I switched. Not keen on the new one tbh so I’m not sure I did the right thing.

Is anyone not?

Thank you. Do you think you might switch back?

Is anyone not?

No one on my friendship group has admitted to taking it, so don't know anyone with personal experience of increasing.

Was on 100 mg and the 100mph thought patterns and dissecting situation from every angle were returning .
So upped to 150mg and that shut the chatter down.

Hi op. I was on 50 then 100mg for a while. I felt it had stopped being effective after a few years S my mood became very low indeed.
Had an appointment with a psychiatrist which I paid for myself, he prescribed vortioxetine. It seems to be helpful so far.

If you don't mind me asking how long were you on 100mg before you increased to 150mg, and was the increase very up and down at first?

125mg is still a good way off the top dose so you still have more scope if needed. If you were feeling it was helping I'd give it a bit more time before writing it off after a day or two of feeling low and anxious. It might just be a minor blip. Base it on how your feeling over a longer term not a few days if that makes sense. Hopefully you'll start feeling better soon.

I might go back on it. I’m currently fighting for antipsychotics so will deal with that first.

A year on 100mg then upped another 50 I found the increase not to be an issue.
I've been on sertralinev before.
The increase was much needed as id slipped back into self isolation and overthinking all sorts to the point I would vocalise these thoughts on repeat to dw and that wasn't fair to have her listen to that and see me in distress which she also found hard.
Sincerely hope you find what works for you.

I ended up on 200mg for a few years. It was great at squashing my anxiety but I didn’t like the way it squashed everything else, including my libido (has never really returned). I would use it again if I really needed to though.

Hi,
I’m currently on 150mg daily and have been since I had a complete breakdown over the covid pandemic. I was on lower doses before that, since I was 21. Honestly it has changed my life. I couldn’t function before. I’d like to lower my dosage again, especially since I’ll be TTC in a few months, but I don’t think I’ll ever be completely off of it. And that’s fine with me if it means I can enjoy life.
wishing you all the best.
Like I say to anyone who disapproves - no one would think to question taking appropriate dosages of medication for diabetes or asthma for example, this isn’t any different.
wishing you all the best xx

Can’t understand people who object to others taking anti-depressants. You have to be feeling pretty grim to even want to consider taking them. No one takes them for fun!
