I was prescribed propranolol yesterday for situational and health anxiety. My daughter’s prom is tonight and I can already feel the jitters and nausea building. Do they start to work straight away? I’m worried about any side affects on such an important night. I have been prescribed 40mg tablets to take on an as and when basis or up to 3 a day.

Yes they should work within half an hour. It’s a small dose.

This is really encouraging thank you. It’s such a big night and I don’t want to feel crappy!

Does anyone here have experience of sometimes taking 3 a day and sometimes as and when?

Yes my dd can take them as required. They usually last about 6 hours.
she takes one on waking and then 1/2 6 hours later and 1/2 a tab at bed. 80mgs all in.
