Hi all, hoping someone here has been through this and can give me some advice.

I'm a single mum with 3 kids living in a rental in New York. I have an emotional support animal (a dog) and my landlord is asking for an ESA letter before they'll allow him to stay. The monthly costs are already really tight and the last thing I need is to lose my home or my dog.

My neighbour mentioned a website called realesaletter and said it looked legitimate. I did a search and it seems to come up well on Google, but I honestly don't know enough about this to tell if it's trustworthy or not.

Would really appreciate any advice; just want to make sure I do this properly and protect my family. Thanks in advance 💙

Probably only others in NYC would be able to answer you accurately as the law will be different there to the UK, where majority of Mumsnetters are based.

Could the letting agent check this for you?
