I’ve had mutiple attempts over the past two weeks and no contact whatsoever from my key worker. Just makes me feel extremely invalidated tbh

Sorry to hear this OP, you are not wrong.
I had a friend in a similar situation and she was crying out for help. Everything she tried she was up against a brick wall. Passed from department to department. Promised call backs that never came. Having to repeat her story to every person she saw, multiple times a day sometimes.

Eventually she took some time away from work, moved areas and effectively started a new life. It seemed to help her but yes, she was let down by every medical professional she approached for help.

Imthefunfriend · 29/05/2026 18:19

Have you felt like this before? Are you able to identify anything that helps? I wanted to say be kind to yourself. You are here for a reason and although it may feel like every day is a struggle, it can get better OP 💐

Hi @Simbathecat25, sorry you are struggling so much at the moment. I’m not clear whether you mean you have had multiple attempts to contact your key worker or multiple attempts to harm yourself? Can you give us some more details about what you are struggling with so we might be able to offer more advice and support?

Have you been to A&E or tried calling the crisis team as it seems like your key worker isn’t giving you the support you need. She probably isn’t ignoring you but I can understand why you would feel that and why it makes you feel invalidated.
What type of support would you be looking for ideally?

PurpleLovecats · 29/05/2026 22:31

They are shocking. I called Crisis and my DH called the GP. Nobody is interested.

Crisis team discharged me back to her on Tuesday unfortunately so the little help I did have was stopped

I think you can still call the crisis team?

Forgotthedonuts · 30/05/2026 00:04

Can you afford to pay for private therapy/psychiatric help? The NHS MH services are so poor that they are letting so many people down these days

LifeOfAShowgirl13 · 30/05/2026 00:04

Whether you can directly contact a Crisis Team if not under their care is area dependent I think. Is 111 option 2 available in your local area?

MissMoneyFairy · 30/05/2026 08:15

What about MIND

JacknDiane · 30/05/2026 08:17

I agree, they are utterly useless.

It’s difficult tbh as when I contact 111 they tell me I’m under Cmht which yes is true but she provides zero support

This really sucks OP, sometimes the services are there in theory but not in practice. There's always the Samaritans and some areas have self help groups where you can at least have a cup of tea with someone you can tell honestly how you are feeling. I hope you get through this bleak period into a better place.

Simbathecat25 · 31/05/2026 18:28

I’ve asked the be discharged as there is no point. Was in hospital again been refused any support

I’m so sorry. This has happened to me too. It’s desperately upsetting when you reach out and receive no support.

That must be so distressing. Do they say why they are refusing you any support? Unfortunately, it seems to be happening to a lot of people these days.

Could you arrange for some services via Mind? Look in your local area. They may offer counselling and some group services online or in person.

To be seen regularly and a medication review and therapy. I was told two months ago this could happen if I went to a review with a psychiatrist I did that and still go nothing

The psychiatrist should have written to your GP with the outcome of the review. Have you looked for the letter on your NHS account as that might clarify what is going to happen even if there is a delay in treatment starting?
