I’m absolutely dreading things in a few weeks. If you’ve followed my story you’ll know I was taken off meds by my psych and MH team. I then got very sick. I restarted them myself a few months ago. That changed everything and I’ve been really well. Like a total different person. But I’ll run out in a couple of weeks and gave you ho cold turkey and I am TERRIFIED of the voices coming back and the angels visiting, I don’t think I can fight it again. I honestly believe it would end my life.

I’ve been following your story and I don’t understand why you don’t get the money together for a private consultation. If it really is a matter of life or death then cancel the caravan holiday and/or ask someone in your large family to help financially. You have said you have a husband, parents, numerous siblings and adult children so wouldn’t they rather club together to contribute a few hundred pounds rather than risk losing you?
Sorry if that sounds harsh but I am genuinely confused

My extended family don’t think paying out is financially sensible. The caravan holiday is three days, our first trip away in over 12 years. It is way less than a private consultant would be who would ask for my nhs notes and likely side with them anyway. It’s just so frustrating.

Where did you get the meds you restarted? Were they leftover from a previous prescription?

Goinggonegone · 02/05/2026 05:34

Can you get a mental health advocate to represent you? Why did they stop your meds? What did the GP say?
Can your husband go to the GP with you and advocate on your behalf?
I'm so sorry. I know how hard it is to get good mental health care. But you must fight for your future self, now, while on meds and well. You deserve to stay well.

Best of luck, although I know it shouldn't rely on luck 💐

How are you getting on now OP? Do you have a plan for when you run out of your meds?
