I’ve been away with mum and sister for a few days. Our lugggage got mixed up. Mum dropped my sisters make up bag at mine and there was a strip of Quetiapine in it. I hadn’t heard of it, google suggests it is prescribed for bipolar. My sister has always had high and low emotions but I don’t know enough to know if she would fit bipolar, not that it matters I’m not going to I say anything, she would have / can tell me if she wants.

Just wondered if anyone had been prescribed it for anything else?

I take it as a mood stabiliser, not bipolar but do have mood swings and can have severe stress "episodes". It also helps very much with sleep.

I’ve had it in conjunction with ADs for treatment resistant depression

Thanks both

Yes I’ve heard of it for sleep.

It’s an anti-psychotic. I have bipolar and it helps me sleep otherwise I get manic.

Mangochutney33 · 28/04/2026 00:25

I have it for anxiety.

I take a low dose of 25-50mg at bedtime for insomnia…. It really helps me to sleep, but I can remain really groggy for several hours upon waking.

I am prescribed it (a very low dose) for sleep.
