Anyone found taking a break from social media like Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok etc has benefited their mental health? I’ve had depression in the past and I can feel some old feelings creeping in and want to do what I can to prevent it escalating. I know it’s more complex than just coming off social media but I wanted to hear any positive experiences that helped others

Absolutely. Tiktok especially. When I was feeling unwell it started feeding me suicide content!!!!

Facebook I am very careful who I have on there and who I follow same with Instagram. Easier when your feeling better so might be better to come off completely for a while.

Yes. Taking a break from Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok can reduce stress, comparison, and mental overload.
People often feel calmer, more focused, and less negative.
It works best when you replace scrolling with real activities like exercise or social time.
