Does depression ever truly go away after years of recurring episodes?

I've struggled with anxiety for about 10 years, used to have panic attacks and did CBT which helped a bit.

I've struggled with depression for 5 years now, ever since I had children. Every year / 18 months it rears it's ugly head back up and knocks me for six. I am so exhausted of constantly fighting my mental health. This time round it feels different. A whole new level of intensity. For fellow depressives, does it ever truly go away? I wish I was normal and could cope with every day things.

Not in my case ,still have severe episodes but with experience I know it will improve then lift for a while. Thats me you are different. Get as much support as you can and medication helps . Medication hasn't cured mine it just takes the edge off. Ive got other mental health problems too so it could be because of that. We are all different. Big Hug 🫂to you.
