Hi. How are you feeling op? 6 days isn’t long enough for them to fully work. It takes a few weeks x

readingismycardio · 04/03/2026 09:22

Hi!! I’ve been on fluoxetine for 6 months-ish now. Started on 10, upped to 20 after 10 days. It took about 3 weeks to feel a different person. Hang in there!

Haggisfish3 · 04/03/2026 09:25

I took it and was ok. Felt a bit woolly headed for a few wees. Took about six weeks to stop crying every day.

It has been life changing for my daughter. Stick with it if you can but there are lots more out there that may suit you better.

Throwitback · 04/03/2026 11:40

It’s been amazing for me. I’m on 40mg for OCD and have been for a year. I barely ever cry anymore - not sure if that’s a benefit or not.

Manchestermummax3 · 04/03/2026 11:42

I'm on 60mg. Have been for about 2.5 years now.
I was super tired for the 1st couple of weeks but it soon settled.

Coledovex · 04/03/2026 12:41

I get rib pain, feel sick and get headaches i take it on a morning and it makes me feel off my head about this time

Do any of you get dizziness after doing the simplest of tasks?

Im on day 14 op. Bit of an upset stomach some days and anxiety and thoughts are still there a lot

babasaclover · 09/03/2026 10:26

I was crippled with anxiety and feeling like the world was gonna end daily because I was such a failure. 6 months on 20mg now and I feel sooooooo much better. I wake up a bit wooly headed and tired. But like a hangover but not unpleasant.

fingers crossed they work for you but if not plenty of other SSRI’s out there doctor said they take 6 weeks to get used to good luck

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 09/03/2026 10:26

Have been on this for 6 months. No side effects I can think of.

Plot30B · 09/03/2026 10:51

I was on 20mg. I found it really effective and felt better after a few days on it. I took it for 9 months and it really pulled me out of a deep depression until I got over the worst of a very traumatic time in my life.

The side effects settled quickly and it's one of the few medications I've been able to tolerate, without severe side effects, for more than 4-5 months.

mumof2teentoddler · 16/03/2026 19:27

How are you doing op @Coledovex
im on day 5 and only realised yesterday that when I woke up feeling awful and today feel awful that it’s the side affects, didn’t think by only day 4/5 they could start but I feel worse than I have done

I’ve been on these before - and they worked for me so I’m hoping the side affects settle because though they feel scary I’m also trying to ride the storm in the hope they work to make me feel better

i feel so tired and low today
