I’m looking for some advice re suspected PMDD which I’ve been suffering with for months now. I’m seeing the GP this week, will they just prescribe an anti depressant or is there some other treatment for this? Thanks

I didn’t want to read and run - sorry I’m off to bed 😊.here’s a link to the Newson clinic. You will also find lots of YouTube/podcasts on the matter

I thought I was suffering with PMDD a few months ago and did some research online - apparently some contraceptive pills help ease symptoms, so maybe ask about that as an option if suitable for you?

Some dietary supplements are supposedly helpful towards balancing hormones like magnesium, B6 etc too.

I did end up on sertraline as I also had depression and anxiety, and I have to say it has stopped my extreme moodswings entirely, which was one of the worst PMDD type symptoms I had.

Hopefully there will be some different options for you! Good luck x

Thank you both for replying. I was taking Sertraline for a while last year and it was good but had to stop it because of the side effects. The doctor said he wants to check my hormone levels and is doing some blood tests so will wait and see what comes back from that
