hi all, my friend is incredibly depressed and has been for years. ( i know this because I've been depressed so see all of the signs). the trouble is that she doesnt do anything to help herself. and i 100% see why - depression is cruel and debilitating and you feel like theres no way out or any ways to make things any better. Has anyone been in similar situations with people? i listen, i dont judge, i offer places she can get support. Is there anything else i can be doing? it's so sad for her.

You can’t fix her depression for her, and that’s the hard truth. What you can do is gently encourage small steps, keep showing up, and protect your own mental health too.
