Autism assessment without an informant

Ive waited months for an asd assessment. Finally had it booked for today.
I told them on the phone a few weeks ago ive no one who can do a 3 hour zoom call with me but a friend who can do a questionnaire. They said it was fine.
The woman has just refused to do the assessment cos it was just me and she needs someone who knew me as a child. I explained I dont have a good relationship with my parents / siblings and ive very few friends. No friend who has known me since childhood.
She said I need to rebook the appointment and have someone else with me.
Im literally broken. I've prepared so much for this and just dont see how I can ever get the answers I need.

I recently had my autism assessment from autism detect, and honestly, it went really well. The team was understanding, professional, and made me feel comfortable throughout the process.

It felt good to finally take this step and get clarity about myself. I’m grateful I went through with it.
Right now though the most important thing is you.
It makes sense you feel broken. This wasn’t just an appointment. It was hope.

Thank you. Did you have an informant?

I didn’t have an informant for mine, my DH did the questionnaire but that was it. I didn’t have anyone who knew me in childhood to come with me or do a questionnaire. I still got the diagnosis.

I've heard so many people say this about not having evidence from their childhood /school reports/ a parent ect. Different places must have different rules unfortunetly

I didn't have to have anyone with me when I had my autism assessment and was unable to get anyone to fill in about my childhood, I was still assessed and diagnosed ( this was in 2023 ) I was diagnosed by Axia Asd in Chester

Although assessment was in person, maybe they can’t assess as well by yourself over zoom as they can’t see body language and reactions as well?
