The UK rain is making me stir crazy - any tips?

I have three children and feel so trapped indoors with the UK weather. Every day it’s raining and freezing. It’s so hard to get outdoors and do anything. I feel like I live in constant darkness and i’m so tired of being stuck at home. One is a baby so I can’t take them to the cinema or swimming. does anyone have any advice or know when it’s meant to turn a corner? I generally have strong mental health and am a positive person but I feel like I’m going mad. Every day is the same.

Just got out! Have an hour with coats and wellies. When you come back in you will all feel better. That's the way.

I always thought the Feb half term was the hardest one to get through 🤷‍♀️

rain, mud and kids, yes just go out, summer will soon be upon us 🤞

Honestly, I know how you feel, but I agree with pp, just go out. If the older ones will complain, make it an adventure trail or bribe them with a treat at the end. Find a way to get through it and you’ll be glad you did.

For indoors, does your cinema do any family friendly or toddler viewings? Also museums, even small local ones, have stuff on at the mo for half term. Or garden centres are doing crafts. Or the library might have things on.

I do empathise thought. This weather is fucking miserable and it feels never ending.

Always 1 isn’t there.

Nobody feels better in horizontal rain with yellow warning wind speed and 20cm of mud.
nobody

Op, I get it. Are you in the south west? We are now on day 43 of consecutive rain. It’s not just the rain, it’s the wind - constant weather warnings, our garden is destroyed and the park/dog walking fields are inaccessible and flooded. The sky is so dark, just thick grey cloud without any depth. Absolutely miserable.

I think PPs are imagining gentle showers with a bit of sun peeking out.

I’m not, but we’re making the best of it. Hence National trust places and garden centres and anywhere we can do 15 minutes outside, get soaked, but we’re ok because we’ve dressed for it, go inside and have a treat, and the repeat. Do three times, that’s half a day gone and everyone’s had a run about and some fresh air.
