Quetiapine side effects - help! 🙏🏻

I was started on Quetiapine 50mg XL for insomnia on the 28th of January. It works wonders for insomnia, I'm able to sleep 8 hours and wake up rested. However 3 days after I started taking it I felt some physical anxiety like tightness in my chest and palpitations which are now gone, but I still feel slightly physically anxious, the anxiety being mostly felt in my upper chest, as if I had a not there and chills throughout the day.
I would like to know if these are "normal" side effects of the first few weeks and they will be gone once my body adjusts to the medication or they are more likely to remain. I wouldn't like to discontinue it as I sleep very well on it but the physical anxiety and the chills are very annoying.
I also suffer from Anxiety and I've been taking Escitalopram for that, but my anxiety was completely under control until I started Quetiapine. Please let me know your experiences 🙏🏻

How long have you been taking Quetiapine for?

Since September, I tapered off my Aripiprazole as I increased the dose of Quetiapine.

Do you still have these sides effects? If not, how long did they take to go away?

I take 800 mg at night for bipolar and get the hunger side effect but not much else. I have been on it years. One thing though, I have ECGs regularly because of quetiapine and its affects on the heart, so might be worth checking with the dr

Hi @Nietz93
I took 50 mg for a while in conjunction with an AD for treatment resistant depression. It was great for the associated insomnia and I didn’t have any side effects except for tiredness during the day.
Most of the other posters on this thread are on much higher doses for other conditions so they will likely get different side effects to you.

I can relate to the tiredness, maybe these are just initial side effects that will eventually go away as the palpitations did. I also forgot to mention that I get chills in the afternoon/evening
