Mental health apps

I keep getting ads for mental health apps in my social media feeds.
Calm, headspace and some others.

Has anyone tried one of these and found it helpful?
I have depression, which I’ve moved from severe to somewhere between mild/moderate thanks to some counselling, but I’ve run out of counselling sessions (and it doesn’t seem to be available via the NHS) so looking for other sources of support.

I used Headspace for a long time, a long time ago and found it really helpful so would recommend that.

What did you find helpful about it?

I use my possible self. It's free. I find the journal and mood tracker helpful and enjoy the podcasts. Healthy eating ideas are great too.

What did you find helpful about it?

It made it easy to meditate very simply, the imagery suggested made it easier for me to feel relaxed doing it and actually feel the benefit. The sound of the guy’s voice, liked that he had an English accent and it’s not wanky or using buzz words and nauseating as I have found others (I think I have a low tolerance to that!). There are also loads to choose from, as short as you like or longer and based on mood or what you want in the moment, overall easy to use and worth it.

I found the Calm Harm app quite helpful when I was self-harming. More recently, I’m really loving the Finch app for keeping steady, reflecting, and setting small daily or weekly objectives

I haven't used it much yet but there is a new app called CALMzone that is completely free, created by a UK charity. Maybe worth a look before paying out for others!
