Rethinks Assessment

My dh is under the care of the local community mental health team and has today received a letter asking him to attend for a Rethinks Assessment. Can anyone please tell me what this is as with it being weekend there is no one at their office and my dh is just going to worry about it all weekend. Many thanks

Does it say anything at all about what the meeting is for? Was the letter from the local MH team he is under? Did it bear logos for any other organisations?

Thanks for the reply. The letter is actually from the community mental health team but not from his usual caseworker. I can phone them on Monday and ask what a Rethinks Assessment is and why they are doing it but just wondered if anyone on mumsnet has had one or knows anything about it.

Is it to do with rethink the mh charity maybe? Maybe assessment for what kind of support they can offer

When I googled Rethinks it did bring up the charity with that name but I can't understand why the Community mental health team would involve them in dhs care?

Rethink run things like peer support groups, so it sounds like your DH's care team might think that they would be helpful for him.
He would need to see someone from Rethink first though, and have a risk assessment done and to see what they can offer.
It is perfectly normal for people to be under CMHT and also be under charity services too.
