Tw To be shocked at how awful mental health care is in my area

My friend has been in hospital due to attempts on her life and harming herself three times. Each time she’s been allowed to leave with nothing in place no follow up or even been spoken to by the mental health team. Another friend left a&e after overdosing hadn’t even been official medically cleared and agin no on said anything.

It’s really poor all over. I’ve discharged myself from my MH team, they were useless. I’m resigned to the fact there is no help and my death is imminent. My family tried so hard to get help and nobody has listened.

What I don’t understand is how services can get away with frankly negligent awful, awful care that absolutely can’t always be excused by “pressure”. The complaints service isn’t independent and there is literally nowhere for patients and families to turn to so patients get worse.
