Citalopram intrusive thoughts

Hello…
does anyone find a very low dose of citalopram 10mg helped with intrusive thoughts? I find higher doses have made me tired in the past, is it worth trying a low dose?

Hello. Ive been on citalopram 20mg for 4 years. Suddenly two weeks ago, Ive had what I think is a relapse. Panic attacks everyday, not eating, drinking and really strong intrusive thoughts. I’ve tried to fight it and carry on going to work etc but this weekend I fell apart. I spoke to the GP yesterday and they’ve increased my dose to 30mg. Really hoping I feel better soon, I feel horrendous - wouldn’t wish it on anybody.

Sending you love and support OP - what are your main symptoms if you don’t mind me asking? Are the intrusive thoughts constant?

Hi 👋

I found this thread as I’m on 10mg citalopram and just thinking of increasing. It did help me to start with, but maybe it’s the time of the year/hormones/peri (?) but I feel horrendous at the moment.

happy to chat 💐

Sending you lots of love 💐 How long have you been on 10mg? I’ve been wondering if the new year has triggered my fall. I had the most relaxing Christmas, didn’t look at my phone and fully switched off. Then the day before going back to work, I had a coffee with a friend..went home and fell apart. I haven’t recovered since. Really hope the increased dose helps me soon.
