Someone said a comment yesterday that was really harsh and unfair to me. I've decided to not see this person again. It's messed my whole weekend up as I had loads to do and instead I've been hurt, upset, fragile, even avoidant.

It was a criticism of my behaviour (not given very well) on a learning opportunity I'd started.

I hate harsh criticism of my behaviour when the other person has no idea where I've come from etc.

I think I just have to give it a time limit and say okay enough is enough, I've stewed on this for 36 hours and now I'm going to do something to make myself feel better.

Like you said they don’t have the full context of the struggles you are individually facing so they are commenting from their own perspective, set of presupposition’s and possibly projecting a little.
It’s crappy for you and hard to switch the brain off even knowing all that. Well done for engaging with a learning op!
