For those of you that have been under the care of the crisis team - seen daily or twice a day, what do you talk about each session?
I feel shutdown and don’t know what I want them to do to help but I feel safe knowing that they are there for me. What sort of things do you discuss? Thanks

I work in a Crisis Team, what they talk about at visits will depend on how you are and what your symptoms are. We understand that for some people daily or twice daily visits can be a bit overwhelming. Often these frequent visits are due to supporting you with medication so it would be very normal for some visits to be brief. Other reasons for frequent visits might be that someone is quite unwell and unsettled e.g. elated mood or hearing voices. So we need to monitor closely. Or a person might have had worrying thoughts to hurt themself or might be very distressed and temporarily need a more intense level of support. You can ask if there is a nurse or clinician coordinating your care and if so this might be the person you see the most.

Meant to add that it is fine to say to them that you feel shutdown and although you are happy to see them you are not always comfortable knowing what to say. They will lead the visit and give you chance to talk or ask questions.

When my dd was on twice daily visits then supervised her medication and watched her eat as that was her default when she was in crisis, stop eating. Fingers crossed it’s been 5.5 years, longest ever since

I have been having auditory hallucinations and self harm so they have been monitoring me. However I don’t feel like we are able to have a conversation as I’m so shutdown and finding it near impossible to process what they are asking me. It’s like I have so many feelings I can’t pin point what’s going on. Like if I knew what help I needed to fix things I would be doing them myself . Thanks for all your replies.
