Counselling

I’m in my mid 50s and have had counselling many many times with different therapists. It has benefitted me to have a place where I can talk about what’s difficult at that time (relationship, bereavement, anxiety, parenting a disabled child) but that’s about it and it’s bloody expensive for that.
is there a different type of therapy that an help me actually understand and tackle why I feel the way I do and how I can change it? Am I better to go for life coaching for example? Or massage/alternative therapies for self care?
Readingwhat I’ve written I think CBT would fit but I’ve done that too and it’s just stating the obvious - my rational brain gets it but it doesn’t reach my emotional brain.
im on medication and have done EMDR which has helped me feel less emotional when discussing painful experiences from my past.
Any ideas?

Yes, it's what I (and other CONTROL practitioners) do. Have a look at my AMA, lots of info on there : https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/AMA/4559328-im-a-hypnotist-remedial-not-stage-ama?page=1
