Anxiety

I have had mild anxiety for the past 5 years since I was diagnosed with cancer. I have never taken medication as I can usually control it by exercise and keeping my mind busy.
Recently I have had low iron and my anxiety has got worse. I feel constantly on edge as if something bad will happen. Its made worse because the low iron symptoms I am experiencing are similar to the symptoms I had when I had cancer (fatigue, dizziness, brain fog)
I don't know if I need medication or if it will just get better once my iron levels are better. I get anxious about going to the GP so if I can avoid it I will.

Low iron can contribute to feelings of anxiety so it might be worthwhile waiting to see if this improves where your iron levels improve.

However, as someone who also avoided anti anxiety meds, I would always say if you think they might help and your GP does, don’t be afraid to give them a go.

Could you be peri menopausal - my anxiety after cancer was crippling but it was menopausal related.
