I’m aware there are a lot of threads on this (because I’ve been reading them all!)
But! I’ve just started sertraline I am on day 5 lowest dose (25mg). This is my second time after being on it a few years ago postpartum.
I am suffering with anxiety and intrusive thoughts (🙁).
Anyway felt ok for the first couple of days but now not so much! I can’t really remember feeling this last time but I am struggling!!! I feel hungover (I can cope with this) but the anxiety and panic is so much worse. I feel sick to my stomach. I haven’t been able to work today and I have young children to look after. I’m aware it can get worse before better & I need to stick this out but my goodness I’m struggling today!
Im not confident I can feel like this for another few weeks… Also been advised to continue meds for now and up dose from 25 to 50mg after 7/8 days.

Keep going! If need be, keep a diary of how you feel and tick off any weirdness against the huge list of possible side-effects. It's not going to change how you feel physically but just seeing that it's "expected" can help your mind to calm.

Speaking as someone who has now been on it over a year and had the initial side-effects from hell...

I got migraine-like headaches in the first week.
I got digestive upsets in the first fortnight and they persisted for about SIX weeks - to the point I actually thought I had something wrong with my system.

But then it went and I've been fine ever since.

Wishing you all the best.

@Heronatemygoldfish Thanks so much for you reply! I know I need to continue I just feel absolutely awful. I can cope with the headaches and no appetite it’s the added anxiety and odd feeling I am not enjoying! I hope to passes soon although dreading upping my dose 🫠.

I've had it twice and really struggled the second time as it made me feel so sick and I wasn't expecting it as the first time had been largely unproblematic side effect wise. It will pass then it will be worth it , keep plodding on.

@RudolphTheReindeer I can’t really remember awful side effects last time either but this is something else. Such a terrible time of year as well really hoping it passes a bit before Christmas Day! 😩 Thanks for replying xx
