At a work party 5 of us were going around saying what we were pleased with in 2025 and people were saying "getting a car" "my child is potty trained" "travelling to...." and I said "finally getting medicated" and laughed it off and they were supportive and saying that's great. Looking back now I'm really annoyed at myself for mentioning it as I don't want people to treat me differently or use it against me. My work colleague asked me later what it was like having OCD etc but was polite about it.

It honestly is something that I was pleased about this year.

Any words of advice? Some of the people in the group have disclosed past MH struggles and are people I work with every day not random co workers.

Please don’t overthink it. As you say it’s a highlight of 2025 for you and it’s important. From what you have said your colleagues have been supportive and curious. Nothing negative in any of that. Just carry on as normal, your colleagues will be impressed you were open about your MH ( and might cause someone else struggling to open up ) but they won’t be giving it too much thought or treating you any differently. Just get on living your life with the positive benefits from having the medication.
