Hi everyone,

My husband has had a terrible year with job loss which has made him leave his career. he has found some casual work (outdoor labour) to contribute. I am well paid. He has therapy and has been gaining strength. He has neurological pain which is made worse by cold weather and working outdoors. Meds have changed and after a period of being elated he has crashed low again saying he feels two weeks away from total breakdown. I want him to stop working and get pain free so he has space to breathe again but he wants to keep going. How can I help him get some solutions?he clearly doesn't want to be fixed and just wants me to be with him and listen etc! I am really struggling and scared about his safety too, worrying he could do something stupid.

Maybe meet the needs he's clearly expressed. He feels that work is good for him and wants you to listen and be around. That's what he needs from you right now.

Instead of an outdoor labourer job could he get a delivery job like with Amazon Flex or Yodel or similar?
