Going to have an ‘instead day’ of what is possible, practical and enriching. Not a licence for self-sabotaging hedonism.

Instead, a day of what makes my heart sing; add one seemingly small but significant action/activity/event that makes what is for me - my best life, with all its limitations and possibilities.

First off - I take myself and my notebook off to meet myself for a coffee in a local cafe. Bit of journalling, image therapy and then back home to do one small but significant domestic chore.

I’ll check later with an update and see if anyone wants to join in.

Brilliant! Loads of us could learn from this. Hope it goes well.

@Notmymarmosets Thanks. It’s been a good day, noticeably that I’ve not had a despondent slump this evening because I’d not been ‘productive’. I reminded myself, I wasn’t supposed to be. I was aware of those moments of sudden tension and then self correcting myself and feeling my body calming. Gonna repeat tomorrow.

When you feel a “I should be doing xyz” replace it with a “could”. That way you can consider it and decide no thanks without guilt.

I do understand but even ‘could’ open up so many things that I realise were not my thing, I was just copying what I believed to be enriching. My guilty secret is I’m a day-dreamer. Gave myself permission to do just that has been such a pleasure, and relief.
