Starting Citalopram - feel wired

Started 10mg of Citalopram 5 days ago. Felt fine until today and now feel absolutely wired. Heart racing, feel agitated, sick. I feel like I'm high on mdma.

Talk me down. Is this normal?

Yeah it's normal. My anxiety was sky high the first few weeks of taking it, I was shaking like a leaf, heart racing, all muscles tense, nausea, sweating - the whole shebang.

This can't be good for me. Wondering if I'm doing the right thing.

It takes a couple of months for your brain to adjust

I had a bizarre dreams during that time but it soon sorted itself out

First few weeks anxiety so bad I felt like I couldn’t walk across the room. All a distant memory now. It’s great so stick with it x

Yeah that was me for the first week. Then it settled down and has been fine ever since. I would persevere for at least a month unless you feel like you're going to harm yourself.

Thank you everyone. It's hard to want to continue when it makes me feel like this.
