Has anyone here used RTC for an adult ADHD assessment while living in Leeds?
I’ve asked my GP for an RTC referral but instead of sending it directly to the provider I chose, the practice has sent it to the Leed ADHD Single Point of access who are now saying I need a triage appointment to see if I meet the criteria and then another meeting to discuss the RTC provider I want.
This doesn’t sound right to me. As far as I understand it, with Right to Choose the GP is supposed to refer straight to the provider, not through local ADHD pathways or triage first. This was what happened with my ASC assesament a year ago.
Has anyone in Leeds managed to avoid this SPA step or persuaded their GP to send the referral directly? I’m trying to work out whether this is a Leeds-specific barrier or whether they’re allowed to do this under NHS rules. Any advice or experience would be really appreciated
