I am full time carer for my husband who has Parkinson’s and Vascular Dementia. I feel so low I can’t see any point in going on. GP prescribed Venlafaxine and warned me the first few days may be tough. My anxiety has rocketed, I feel sick, wobbly and have an upset stomach. Going to bed to get through it is not an option. I’m scared. Can anyone tell me it does get better? I’m on day 3. Have phone call from GP next Tuesday.

Can you get the slow release tablets?

I’ve been taking them for a number of years it was rocky at the start but I actually believe they saved my life x

As the first poster says, slow release worked incredibly well for me. First week or 2 was very rocky. But venlafaxine saved me when I was at my lowest.
My only side effect I found was excessive sweating.

I hope wish you well. I lost my appetite so if this happens try eat little and often. And lots of water to stay hydrated.
Please be kind with yourself you are going though a lot right now. I really wish you the best

I found drinking sparkling water in sips really helped with the nausea.
