I’m a mum of 2 ( 3 and 1 year old) who works full time. I went back to work after both maternity leave leave at 7 months as that is what we could afford. The first time round after a few months of teething issues, I was performing at work like i used to. This time round, I have been back at work for almost a year now and I just simple cannot seem to get back to who I was before. I work with numbers and every single piece of work I do is riddled with errors. I’m really struggling because I feel I am putting in 150% but getting worse and worse results everytime.

I cannot sleep from the stress of all of it. But I really need to keep my job.

Any advice please

Hi OP. Your kids are at tough ages, and combined with FT work, you are very likely exhausted.

What support do you have? Do you have a partner/husband pulling their weight?

Given you are FT, can you outsource anything, like cleaning?

On the work side, have you had any feedback like an appraisal? Do you have anyone you could speak to? Are they supportive?

I think you need to think about you and your set up overall, as the less stressful your life is outside work, the less tired (and more productive!) you will be. Also, could you be deficient in anything? I had terrible fatigue returning to work after DD2 (now 4), and it turned out I was deficient in Vit D and iron. Taking regular supplements has definitely helped.
