I've been having very low thoughts for about 6 weeks now. I've now had a complete meltdown and am definitely still functioning but there are certain daily things I don't feel able to do right now.

I've been pushing through and feel like I'm simply surviving. I took amitriptyline for a while and that was quite numbing, no joy but no pain. Sertraline gave me terrible headaches.

Would really appreciate if those who take medication for depression and anxiety, would be happy to share what they take and how it impacts you?

I am on Venlafaxine 75mg. It is very helpful for depression and anxiety. I really vouch for it.

Citalopram 20mg. Not sure if it's helping.
Setraline gave me terrible side effects.

I was on fluoxetine for three or so years. Highest dose for a lot of that. I had bad depression at the time and although it had some side effects they weren't as bad as the depression. I came off it when I was fed up with that flat, no joy feeling you describe but it was when I noticed I was feeling better. Coming off them took a while but I stayed depression free. A few years after the anxiety returned and I am now taking propranolol a couple of times a week when the physical symptoms are getting in the way of doing something.

Finding the right antidepressant can be challenging but the right one can change your life.

Sorry to hear you are suffering.

I am on a similar timeframe. Finally went to doctor a month ago after completely breaking down in tears and he prescribed fluoxetine. Just sitting in the doctors waiting for my one month check up. No side effects so far except I’m very tired and in bed sleeping better than I have for years at 8.30pm. Not ideal but I think I feel better just from having some sleep and my brain shutting down a bit for reprieve.

dont give up, the right tablets can help massively xxx

I agree .

Sertraline worked for ages for low mood but then anxiety took over.

Venfalaxine helps me with both depression and anxiety. I used to take the slow release one but wiped me too much so now take the normal. 37.5

Glad it’s been effective for you! I am on slow release.
