Zyban (Wellbutrin/Buproprion) for depression

Does anyone have any experience of this, for depression? SSRIs kill my libido so I'm hoping to talk to GP about this instead. I'm just generally struggling, but a fulfilling sex life is something I do have going for me! I keep being made to feel (by medics) that I should not be prioritising that, and should stick with the SSRIs.

I was on it for a while - I didn’t know that GPs could prescribe it as I had to have it via a psychiatrist. It didn’t really do very much for me so I wasn’t on it long although I believe it can be quite effective. I don’t remember where it had any effect on my libido but I was prescribed it at a particularly bad time so I’m not sure I would have really noticed.

Thanks for relying. Can you remember why it was prescribed for you, was it as an antidepressant?

Yes, it was as an antidepressant although I think it was in combination with sertraline rather than being the only drug that I was on.
