Hey everyone

sorry I don’t who else to speak to about this, but my sister has recently been through a bit of a ‘mid life crisis’ (for lack of better explanation). Left her husband. Made a few bad decisions around relationships that ended up costing her a job (she has another now but hates it). She’s also recently paid to privately be diagnosed with a few mental health things.

in the few weeks since being ‘diagnosed’ she’s threatened to ‘end it’ multiple times - saying she hasn’t cos of her son (50/50 shared care with her ex husband).

I don’t know what to do. We have no other siblings or parents I can lean on for advice and I couldn’t live with myself if she did go through with something (her poor son!!) and I feel like I’ve tried everything and no matter what I say she has a ‘negative’ answer to. I think a lot would be better if she got another job but she isn’t even getting interviews. She won’t just leave as she has no savings at all.

In the last 2 weeks she’s made these comments at least 3x.

sorry if this is triggering for anyone I just really need some advice. Should I call the police? An ambulance ? Try and get her sectioned? I have no idea 😭

I don't think you will be able to get her sectioned. It sounds like she needs medication

@RealPerson the gp tried to prescribe anti depressants and she refused

Maybe try to persuade her. I understand why people don't want it- they think, my problems are real it isn't a mental illness. But the thing is when your brain chemistry is working good you can handle things better and still be happy under stresses
