Hi, would really welcome any advice on my journey to get better. I am at my wits end. I used Prozac on / off for 30 years (15-45) which worked really well for me. Then it stopped. Since then I have tried Mirtzapine , Venlablue , Lexapro, Lithium & Sertraline. My Dr does very fast tapers (6 days off last med from 200mg). I am done to start Lofepramine. I am looking for anyone's else experience trying to find right drug, tapering or anything to give me hope. I am so tired of feeling like this. Thank you

Like you tried lots of meds prob about 13 different meds over the last 8 years. None have been great but now understand that the issue underlying isn’t chemical. intense therapy has proved most helpful in the long run. Sorry if that’s not helpful

That’s really fast tapering esp on the venlafaxine which is brutal to stop ! Is this a psychiatrist ?

I’ve not had that particular med but another tricyclic that didn’t work for me but others I my group seemed to benefit (inpatient at the time).

all the best. It’s so painful feeling like that for so long.

alwaysthesamechild thanks so much for your message. I really appreciate it. I am sorry to hear about your journey but glad you have found something that works for you. I have been to counseling for 14 years on & off. I like you am beginning to think this isn't the answer. I also find the medication changes very hard. Yes it is a psychiatrist making the changes. I spent yesterday in bed and again today. I know it doesn't help. I think exercise is going to have to be part of the solution but I don't have the motivation. I am 47 and have two children I feel I am letting down badly. I had started to use alcohol to self medicate the anxiety but stopped 3 months ago. It is so hard to be patient with myself giving out to myself all the time. I long for some peace. Thanks for your honesty
