Support worker diagnosing me

I was referred to a wellbeing support worker at my GP practice as I have anxiety and depression. I met him for the first time yesterday. He told me that I might have personality disorder and ADHD, and that I "can't sit still". I have lower back and leg issues, and can't sit down without moving after a reasonable period of time. I have access to my own medical record, and saw what he wrote about me, that I can't speak about anything clearly, which has upset me as I thought I was completely clear.
I contacted the practice today and said I don't want any more appointments with him, although I will accept a referral to CMHT. Surely he's not qualified to make these diagnoses?🙁

You may wish to consider contacting your practice manager and ccing in your GP.

That was inappropriate and you are quite right, he cannot diagnose and to make an attempt was unprofessional and unboundaried.

Unfortunately I have seen support and peer support workers do this before.

Thanks for your response. The manager who has my complaint is away, but I've asked for a meeting with them. I was really shaken by this man's accusations, he has thrown all kinds of labels at me. Claimed I came in to the first meeting "manic" when I was just anxious.
I hope they won't stall for a meeting.

If you haven't done so already, you may wish to consider making bullet points of the details to discuss and your ideal outcome.

I'm somewhat bemused by what he has done...I dont have a high opinion of support workers in general, having come across them both as a service user and as a professional but would have thought AT LEAST they wouldn't try and diagnose.

You may also wish to consider requesting your notes so you can identify what needs correction.

I'm sorry this happened to you.
