Mental health crisis - I can’t do life any more …… what do I do? I’ve spoke to the gp, I’ve called 111 but cos I’m not suicidal which im definitely not cos I have a little girl to be here for I don’t get much help but……. I’m done in most other respects……. What do I do to resolve this?

Have you had therapy? Ask for a referral or self referral in some areas. Do you work? If so can you take the pressure off for a bit and ask the GP for a sick line? Do things that are good for you, get outside, gentle exercise like walking, yoga, try to have early nights. Have you tried medication?

I’ve rung the Samaritans 3 times in 4 days. I’ve been prescribed a beta blocker…… but I still feel I’m increasingly going down the pan

There is nothing anyone or any service can do you make you feel instantly better. You just have to keep plodding on, take each day as it comes. make an effort not stop doing things you like, to keep going outside etc. Take joy in the small things eg playing with your child, a comforting familiar film. In time you might find the darkness lifts.

You could always ask for antidepressants but they tend to make you feel much worse before/if they make you feel any better. Self refer to talking therapies but that’s just low level workbook stuff you could read online or from a book.

Beta blocker will stop the physical symptoms of anxiety such as racing heart, shaking, sweating but they're not going to do anything for your actual mental health or any depression you're experiencing. You need to speak to your GP again and say you need to try something else. Unfortunately no one is going to help you without you pushing for it which is difficult to advocate for yourself when you're suffering so it's a catch 22.
