EMDR therapy experiences

I had EMDR earlier this year for cPTSD and it was life changing.

I'm starting another session with the therapist about a second trauma.

This took place over three separate days and I'm wondering if that's possible to work on the whole thing over the (8) sessions? It was two short life threatening situations on different days. Then a third day when I was admitted to hospital, where there were two short separate incidents.

Just wondering if that's possible or if she is going to ask me to focus on one day? And if it's faster the second time you do it?

It may be that 'it depends' how I get on and need to think about the worst part and start there.

Any thoughts or experiences?

I've had success with EMDR too. I guess it might vary from therapist to therapist but mine covered my whole episode after I was badly injured in a car crash. In fact it was quite illuminating for me because it came out that I was more traumatised by my experiences in hospital after the crash than I was by the event itself, and that the subsequent behaviour of my employer was another major factor. The first session focused on the actual crash but we moved onto the aftermath quite quickly.
I'd just ask at your first appointment.

I’m so thrilled to hear positive reviews. I’m about to start and have been shitting myself! Thank you and good luck!
