Vortioxetine experiences

Hiya I have recently started vortioxetine after a depressive relapse of bipolar type 2. I’m already on pregabalin and quetiapine as well. I did one week on 5mg and am on day 8 of 10mg. I have done some searches and I can see one or two posts from people taking this medication but I wondered if there is anyone else on here at the moment who takes it/took it and how did they find it? I’m having to take zopiclone as I’m pinging awake at 2.30am despite the quetiapine and I’m hoping this is going to improve, also ++morning anxiety feelings that are really unpleasant. I’m sticking with it as I’ve done 15 days and I don’t want to switch again (had been taken off mirtazipine for non response then had a disastrous 5 days trial of Venlafaxine prior to starting this new one so I’m on 3rd antidepressant in 4 weeks 🤯) anyways, would love to hear from anyone who’s tried this medication and how they found it (I know we all respond differently but I’m still curious) thanks xxx

It made me very sick so I couldn’t tolerate it for very long. I had quite high hopes for it so I was really disappointed.

Ah sorry to hear that. I have been lucky in that respect, no nausea as such just very poor appetite. Were you sickly even on the lower dose?

I’ve been on Vortioxetine for the past year off and on. My therapist who I’ve been seeing for 10 years thinks this past year when I’ve been taking it is the best I’ve been in 10 years. I’ve just started retaking it again (reluctantly) and feel quite nauseous. How are you getting on with it?

I think I looked for posts about it when I first started on it. Seems almost no one takes it on here.

@AshBlack well it’s a bit of a mixed bag. I’m still taking it but I am still having some sleep problems and waking with heart racing. Sweating and feeling really jittery. I slept 6 hrs straight last night and that was really good for me. Normally I’d sleep 8to 9hrs a night but since been in the Vortioxetine it’s nearer 5hrs.
I didn’t get nausea as such with it but I did find it difficult to eat so would only be able to have a yoghurt or whatever as opposed to a proper meal. That lasted 3 weeks I reckon. It’s working well tho I’d say so even though the side effects have been unpleasant I think it’s an effective drug.
