Hello, I’ve been diagnosed with GAD over 15 years ( had it all my life but finally got a proper diagnosis and starts meds which was a game changer- im now im
my 50)
so I’ve had a slump over the past while- extra life factors such as only carer for aging mom, emotionally and physically distant husband, raising teenagers, stressful and emotionally challenging job etc. I has an upset at work a few days ago ( was being questioned over something very minor ) and I got upset. I
kust told my boss just not feeling mentally well lately- was that a mistake? ( and the petty work thing - nothing was done wrong on my end)

No I don't think that was a mistake. By mentioning this to your boss hopefully they can be supportive. Your health whether physical or mental is important. So many people have mh difficulties at one time or another.

My work have known about my mental health for a while. They have been supportive and made adjustments to help me when I am not doing do well.

I think you did the right thing.
Can I ask, does it make you feel physically unwell? I have this and feel awful at the moment (anxiety is heightened due to perimenopause)

@Choccymumma yes! And im perimenopause as well. But I think it’s more just being fed up overall! And do not need petty things made into bigger things than they are- esp at work!

Yes I know what you mean, I'm just fed up with feeling ill so a vicious circle!
How does it make you feel?

Mammadrama · 18/08/2025 17:17

@Choccymumma tired, affects my sleep, muscle aches ( neck, back etc) mentally low at times, irritated, the list goes on! But if I wasn’t on anti depressants I would be quite bad mentally-
