Health Anxiety

Can I ask if anybody else experiences the same? My health anxiety always seems to play up more at the end of the day, all through the day when I am at work I am fine and don’t give it a second thought, but as soon as I am home and I stop rushing about it kicks in and has been more noticeable the last couple of weeks.

I have been doing so well lately and hadn’t had any intrusive thoughts at all.

Why is this happening again? 😭

It is a difficult condition to live with. Personally I had to introduce myself some strict rules to follow no matter how tempted I was to go down the reassurance seeking behaviours’

Most important two rules- ‘don’t self examine at night/evening’ this is my mantra. No poking areas, prodding or looking in mirror until morning (be strict with yourself) when if concerned then, make a gp appointment

Next rule, never google, it always makes things worse in your head, if you are at the point of needing to google -again make a GP appointment.

things do always look brighter in the morning. I would seek help with this condition. I also found a HA book via Amazon that improved how I feel and approach this condition. Wishing you all the best

unfortunately I’m the same @rachR90. It’s got worse as I’ve got older and is particularly bad at the moment. I feel really anxious at night. I’m taking various supplements, which perhaps take the edge off, and I’ve just bought a book about health anxiety. @pipsy76 you mentioned seeking help. Is there anything you found particularly helpful in this regard? I’m considering some sort of therapy to see if it will help.

Came on here looking for health anxiety advice.
Always has it but at 49 and into perimenopause, its off the scale and I cant bear it.
Its making me physically ill.

I also struggle with this and am having a flare up at the minute. I always get very anxious at night and everything feels worse.
