Any other insomniacs up? If so what’s on your mind tonight? What’s keeping you / got you up?

Wide awake since about 2.30, which is kinda normal for me at the mo.
Exhausted and stressed.
The longest house move in history plus family members to worry about because they're going through stuff and I feel helpless to do anything to help or change any of it.

Hoping I can get back to sleep at some point but definitely not feeling it yet.

Sorry to hear that @heldinadream Does sound stressful. Is the house move done at least?

Lol I went away and read more threads then - yay - went back to sleep for a whole extra hour and a half!

Nooooo our house move. You really don't want to know but we decided to move round about September 2 years ago, kicked off looking at houses that October-November 2023, got our house finally sold October 2024, have lost 3 houses that we were well into the process of buying, are on buying house 4, been in a rental for what will be a year at the end of October, and still have no completion date. So if it gets to October it'll have taken us 2 years in all. This last house we offered and had accepted in Feb. Don't ask for the details, it's literally the most tedious saga going of mad buyers and terrible sellers and blah. I'm so fed up now and just want to move in. 2 years!

Did you get any more sleep? Do you want to share what's keeping you awake at the moment?

Oh my god. That sounds truly awful. February for house 4?! Wow. I won’t ask but I hope it completes and you get in soon.

I also managed to get back to sleep and have just woken up. I fall asleep easily when I go to bed but I wake up almost very night (usually around 3 - 4 am). I can be up for hours at that point. I can cope with getting up and reading or pottering about but for the last 6 months or so I wake up with this horrible sense of doom and really depressive thoughts running round my head. Even if I’ve had a lovely day and gone to bed in a good mood. It’s really wearing.

I’m late forties, in peri, am on HRT but don’t know that it’s helped the insomnia. Have all but given up caffeine (down to one or two cups a day from about 7!).
