Hello

I’m a first time mum to a 2.5 year old boy and I work in the early years. I’m absolutely drained all the time and have no energy to even look after myself or my son as I would like to. I suffer with anxiety and depression. I love my son but I really really struggle with the mental load of being a mum and I don’t know who I am anymore it’s very lonely. Can anyone else relate or just reassure me I’m not alone!! Thank you X x

Hi @OwenLJN it is hard being a parent when they are little.

They can be bundles of energy and be into everything.

And working in early years you'll see it at work (I'm guessing) and then st home.

The "terrible twos" can hard as well.

What support do you have to help out? Partner, family?

Even friends to share the mental burden of sharing stories?

It's been a while since mine where that young, are able to speak to a health visitor or GP?

Are you sleeping enough? And eating properly?

If you are like me the kids always ate better than I did.

Are you able to find time for yourself when your LO is in bed?

You definitely aren't alone.

And it does get better.
