Sertraline for the 2nd time

Hi all,

I am day 3 of 100mg of Sertraline from 50mg. I took it two years ago and was amazing, felt the benefits properly after about 6 weeks. With a dose increase when did people start to notice a difference? My anxiety and depressive symptoms are not as severe this time around but I knew I needed a little more help. Thanks

@Waitingforthesunshine24 Hi, I have been on Sertraline before and had experience of increasing the dose several times, although it was a long time ago.

When I increased my dose it was usually because symptoms were returning after a long spell on the previous dose. In this case I found I would feel a bit worse for a week or two as side effects kicked in again, but then I would quite quickly start to feel better. Definitely quicker than it took the meds to kick in initially when I went on them.

How long were you on 5g before you increased?

I was on 50mg for around 18 months come off them in October 2024. Been on 50mg for about 9 weeks and been on 100mg for 3 days so far x

It took about three weeks on each increase for me. I’m on 200mg now and unfortunately think it’s not working anymore.
